A two-year-old Columbian Black Tail buck looks directly at the camera. He’s framed in a thicket of Western Red Cedar, Bracken Fern and Evergreen Huckleberries. His deep brown eyes and black nose stand out beneath the graceful 'U' of his fresh antlers. The purplish shells of his ears face me and frame his antlers. A feral black mask shaped like a heart highlights his light brown eyebrows and ends in slender delicate point at the top of his nose His rusty summer coat is fading to winter greys.
