The Institute for Poetic Medicine is dedicated to nurturing the human capacity to connect to Self, Other, Community, the Natural World, and the Divine through the healing, expressive art of poetry.

We do this work through a variety of pathways.

Some programs bring poetic medicine to specific communities as outreach, others are offered as workshops to the general community for personal experience, and other programs that we offer are focused on training people to lead their own groups.

Letters subscriptions are available at any point during the year by subscribing through the link below or through the Letters level on the membership page.

Space in the poetry circle is limited to 12 people to allow time for each person to share during our time together. Poetry Circle registration closed February 1st.

Year of Poetic Medicine

Our Poetry of Nature circle is co-led by poet and Nature photographer NanLeah with poet and climate change activist Geoff Oelsner.

For anyone interested in fostering a creative and therapeutic approach to wellness through the integration of Poetic Medicine into mental health and wellness programs. This program offers an opportunity to experience poetry-as-healer in Part 1 with the option to begin training as a facilitator in Part 2.
