Sasha Guzman holds a position as a youth prevention specialist at the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) since 2020. She works with at-risk youth from elementary through high school age teaching socio-emotional skills.


She was a member of The Institute for Poetic Medicine’s Poetry Therapy and Exile Poetry Groups (since 2013) and has numerous publications on poetry and dreams over the years in the poetry magazine, Voices de la Luna.


Sasha lives with her pareja (pad-e-ha) (Spanish for partner), Perry. She has no kids, except their 3 fur babies, a cat, an English Bull Terrier, and a Xoloizcuintle. She is a member of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan Nation and jingle dances at local pow wows. She graduated in May 2025 with a degree in a Marriage and Family Counseling.

Sasha plans on creating a Poetry Therapy Group to continue IPM’s work of healing through poetry.
