This workshop explores how Poetic Medicine’s creative approach to self-expression can deepen chaplaincy practice — especially the sacred disciplines of listening, silence, and presence. Through examples of poems written by chaplains and others engaged in spiritual care, we’ll reflect on how poetry can accompany moments of pain, grief, and transition.
Participants will be invited into a brief generative writing exercise to explore their own “medicine” and consider how poetic expression can support those they serve. Voluntary sharing will be welcomed in a spirit of care and respect.
Open to anyone interested in poetry, presence, and healing.
